Yangsook enjoys visits to schools, libraries, NGOs and talks at literary festivals and conferences. She has made over a hundred appearances as a speaker and teacher in US, Netherlands, Belgium, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and Guatemala. Her presentation can be adjusted to suit the needs of any audience from a large assembly to a small group.

Birth of a Picture Book takes the audience through the creative process of The Name Jar bookmaking: the power of imagination, getting an idea, writing, storyboarding, and illustrating. This can lead to a name stamp design activity.
Young Writers Workshop provides the practical grounding of writing process from raw inspiration to finishing a chapter for a chapter book. A fun activity is included for plot development and building up a story structure.
Young Artists Workshop A special hands-on workshop where students participate in an interactive visual storytelling game, create a storyboard and illustrate a scene from it.
Asian Fantasy Character Design Workshop Experience yet another fascinating journey with mythical creatures from ancient Asia: Filipino vampire Sigbin, Korean goblin Tokebi, a child sumo wrestler Kintaro, and Nine-Tailed Fox from Han dynasty. Design your own fantastic character using body parts of these legendary creatures.

Writers & Artists
Writing in a Child's Voice Write for children by increasing the imagination to go back to being the child you were. This workshop will cover all phases of children’s book writing from initial conceptualization, rewriting by maintaining focus and developing a style.
Storyboarding Workshop Children respond more strongly to images than words. This workshop focuses on the art of visual storytelling in pagination, sequence, composition, and atmosphere to lead and engage young readers most effectively.
